MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP
Individual Members shall be persons who support, contribute to, or are responsible for the advancement of knowledge, practice and / or compliance, as relevant to the field of land rehabilitation. These members are independent persons with the rights to vote on matters related to the management and governance of the Society.

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP
Student Members are bona fide students, registered for full time or part time studies. This membership category is valid for no longer than three years and is subject to proof of registration. Thereafter the member will automatically be eligible for Individual Membership. Student members have no voting rights in respect of the management and / or governance of the Society. They may however participate in the nomination of candidates for awards or accolated.

- LARSSA student members may be eligible to receive event sponsorships in the instance that LARSSA obtains such sponsorships.
HONORARY MEMBERSHIP
Honorary Members shall be persons whom the Society wishes to honour by reason of meritorious services rendered for the realization of the objectives of the Society or by reason of their eminence in the discipline. Honorary members are recognised independently of their employers and are entitled to vote on matters related to the management and governance of the Society.

LAND REHABILITATION SPECIALIST (LRS) STATUS
These members qualify to be recognised and accredited as a Land Rehabilitation Specialists (LRS). The accreditation of an individual as a Land Rehabilitation Specialist (LRS) is solely at the discretion of Council, as is the revocation of this accreditation and the privileges it confers.

CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP
Corporate memberships are available to formally registered Companies, Government Departments, State Owned Entities, NPOs or NGOs that play an active role in, have an interest in, or have a responsibility for the rehabilitation of land. Details of this membership and the associated benefits are outlined in the LaRSSA Membership Policy.
All Corporate members shall be represented by a Designated Spokesperson who is duly delegated to act or speak on behalf of the member entity. The Designated Spokesperson represents the entities interests in matters pertaining to the management and governance of the society and shall have voting rights.
The company may identify Corporate Membership Beneficiaries. These are direct employees of the Corporate Member entity and who, in their professional capacity, contribute to the achievement of the Society’s Objectives.
Corporate Membership Beneficiaries will be assigned a LaRSSA membership number. On leaving the service of the Corporate Member, they will be required to register independently with the Society to retain their LaRSSA Membership number and benefits. Corporate Membership Beneficiaries have the same voting rights as Individual Members but are not entitled to act on behalf of the member entity unless they are the duly designated spokesperson.
